Alvin (DSV-2) er en dyphavsubåt bygget ved Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution i USA, blant annet med inspirasjon fra batyskafen Trieste.Den ble bygget for å kunne erstatte de mye mindre manøvrerbare batyskafene, blant annet ved å bytte ut den store, bensinfylte flottøren med en mye lettere konstruksjon av syntetisk skum. Alvin (DSV-2) je hlubinná ponorka námořnictva Spojených států amerických provozovaná od roku 5. června 1964 Oceánografickým institutem Woods Hole. Alvin má za sebou velmi pestrou službu.
